Put simply, I love Pasadena. All its quaint alleyways, little nooks and crannies, abundance of shops and boutiques, and variety of eateries makes it such an enticing city. I've never been in a city in which the alleyways were so beautiful and detailed.

This lace top is definitely a statement piece. I bought it after being inspired by summer's crochet pieces, but it's proving to be a great transition piece for fall and winter too. Sure, it's crochet and see-through, but by wearing tanks and long sleeves under it or layering sweaters and cardigans over it, plus some tights and fall booties, and you're good to go!

I'm embracing the turban trend with this turband (no it's not a typo), it's a turban + headband. It's a more  approachable way to try out the trend and it's super easy. I got the idea from Jen from clothesencounters  on youtube. All I needed was a rectangular scarf! It's a great alternative for those bad hair days.

Sweet Indulgences

Auntie Em's red velvet cupcake

Valentine's Day isn't only for couples. It's a day to indulge, pamper, and love yourself and the people around you. My best friend so sweetly sent me a Cow card for Valentine's Day (she knows I love cows!), and my mom treated me with a bar of Belgian dark chocolate– it even had a love poem inside! I apologize for the PhotoBooth pictures, but I just really wanted to get a little Valentine's Day post in. I'm spending today watching episodes of Glee and indulging in chocolate, what about you?

Auntie Em's

A couple weeks back, my cousin and I tried out Auntie Em's in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. They're best known for their flat chewy cookies, which were featured on Food Network's Sugar High. Though after trying out their flat chocolate chip cookie, red velvet cupcake, Cajun Turkey Sausage open faced sandwich, and their half soup half tuna sandwich, I have to say that their red velvet cupcake is the best part of Auntie Em's. The cake was fluffy and moist in the perfect shade of red and a cream cheese frosting that nicely complimented the cupcake. While they do have daily specials and soups, I think that their savory dishes are so-so, but if you're in need of a treat to quell your sweet tooth, I would definitely advise a stop in at Auntie Em's. To top it off, the interior design of the breakfast and brunch stop was adorable– a great mix of vintage inspiration and mismatched quirkiness.
